Baby monkeys are naturally curious little creatures, and sometimes they develop habits that make their tiny bodies uncomfortable. One such habit is continuously sucking their fingers. To help prevent him from constantly putting his fingers in his mouth, soft protective gloves can sometimes be used under appropriate supervision. The gloves should fit safely, allow comfortable movement, and never be tight around the fingers or wrist. They also need to be kept clean and dry. A caregiver should check the baby monkey’s hands regularly and remove the gloves if they cause discomfort or additional irritation.
Most importantly, the baby monkey still needs plenty of comfort and attention. Gentle cuddling, safe toys, and engaging activities can help redirect his attention away from finger-sucking. With patience and consistent care, he may gradually spend less time sucking his fingers.
His caregivers continue to watch him closely because prevention is always better than allowing a small skin irritation to become a bigger problem. If the rash becomes severe, spreads, bleeds, produces discharge, or does not improve, professional veterinary care is important.
Even though his tiny fingers look delicate, this little baby monkey is full of energy and curiosity. With loving attention, good hygiene, and careful monitoring, his irritated fingers can hopefully return to being healthy and comfortable.
